Biometric Pix is already here
Bring the experience of the world's most popular digital wallets to your product's checkout.

BiomeTrio: biometric Pix
BiomeTrio makes Pix (Brazil’s instant payment system) transactions faster, smoother and more secure, using facial recognition or a fingerprint to authenticate the payment directly on the buyer’s trusted device (phone, personal computer or tablet).
This innovation removes the need to copy and paste codes or switch between the merchant’s website and the bank app, bringing payment into the natural flow of the purchase. The result is a simpler, more intuitive and familiar checkout, similar to what already happens with digital wallets such as Apple Wallet, Google Pay and Samsung Pay, now also available for Pix.
How it works in practice
- Initial authorization: The first time you use the feature, you need to link your bank account to a mobile device, such as a smartphone. The link is made through your bank’s app, which will ask for your biometrics (face or fingerprint) to confirm the authorization.
- Subsequent payments: Once you’re enrolled, future purchases can be completed instantly, right on the store’s website or app. Instead of opening your bank app, you authorize the transaction with just the biometrics registered on your device.
The process reduces friction, speeds up checkout and lowers cart abandonment, with a positive impact on the merchant’s conversion rates.
Additional benefits
- For the buyer: a fast, secure, uninterrupted experience; the familiarity of digital wallets; trust reinforced by biometrics.
- For the merchant: higher checkout conversion, fewer drop-offs, simple integration via SDK, plus lower risk of fraud and chargebacks.
- For the ecosystem: regulatory compliance, adherence to international security standards (FIDO/WebAuthn) and stronger trust in Pix as a digital payment method.
Why is it more secure?
Trio’s biometric Pix uses WebAuthn, an open API created by the FIDO Alliance and the W3C that enables passwordless authentication for online services. This standard ensures the buyer’s identity is confirmed through a mathematical proof generated by the device itself, without exposing sensitive information.
Users’ devices, in turn, also follow these protocols and standards to perform biometric checks, as they are FIDO compliant. In other words, they use a private key that proves, at the moment of the transaction, that the authorization was given on the right device by the right person.
As a Payment Institution audited and regulated by the Central Bank of Brazil, Trio has no access to any user keys, biometric data, photos or fingerprints. The entire process is decentralized, secure and transparent.
Simple implementation
Trio provides a plug-and-play SDK that is easy to integrate into your checkout. With just a few settings, you can offer customers three payment options:
✅ Standard Pix
✅ Pix via Open Finance (Pay with App)
✅ Biometric Pix
With this solution, biometrics become a natural extension of Pix, taking the shopping experience to a new level of security, convenience and conversion.
