Trio's reading, September 2026.

Pix closed September at R$3.23 trillion, its largest month since launch and 21.6% above September 2025. The number that tells finance teams the most, though, is another one: 52% of that value moved from company to company. In 2021 it was 36%.

Two series confirm the shift. The dynamic QR code, which is how a company charges, already accounts for 44% of transactions. And Pix Automático reached 8.8 million transactions in the month, eight times February's volume.

For anyone operating at volume, the reading is simple: collections, supplier payments and cash movements already run on Pix. Reconciling every transaction on the same day is no longer a differentiator; it's a requirement.

Every number on this page comes from the Central Bank of Brazil's open data: the Pix dataset (transactions by recipient profile, municipalities, users and keys in DICT, MED statistics).

  • Lag: the Central Bank publishes each month during the second half of the following month. The page always shows the latest month published.
  • Values: in current reais, not adjusted for inflation.
  • Nature: P2P (person to person), P2B (person to business), B2P (business to person), B2B (business to business) and transactions with the government.
  • Sector and size: of the corporate recipient, by CNAE section and by the Federal Revenue's size class.
  • Pix among payment methods: the panel comparing Pix with TED, boleto and cards uses the Central Bank's quarterly payment statistics, which count Pix differently. The full comparison is on the Brazil Payments Map.

Questions
about the data.

How much does Pix move per month?

In the latest month published by the Central Bank of Brazil, Pix moved the amount shown at the top of this page. The full monthly series since November 2020 is in the trend chart and in the downloadable CSV.

Where does the data on this page come from?

From the Central Bank of Brazil's open data: the Pix dataset (transactions, municipalities, users, keys and MED) and the payment-method statistics. Trio downloads, aggregates and publishes the numbers without changing the source.

How often are the numbers updated?

Every month. The Central Bank publishes each month during the second half of the following month, and the page shows the new month shortly after.

What is B2B Pix?

It's Pix from company to company: supplier payments, payouts, settlements between partners. Today it's the largest share of the value moved by Pix.

What is Pix MED?

The special return mechanism lets victims of a scam or fraud dispute a Pix. If the dispute is accepted, the recipient's institution blocks and returns the amount available in the account.

Can I use the charts and numbers?

Yes. Cite the source as "Trio, with Central Bank of Brazil data" and, if possible, link to this page. The monthly series is available as CSV.

Does Trio take part in Pix?

Yes. Trio is a Payment Institution authorized by the Central Bank of Brazil (IP 619), directly connected to Pix. The statistics on this page, however, cover the whole system, not Trio.
