Advanced compliance in Pix payments
Safer betting for operators and players is within your reach.

Under the new Portaria SPA/MF 1.231 (a ministerial ordinance on betting regulation) issued by the Ministry of Economy, it is clear that compliance must be stricter at onboarding and at payment on betting sites. But how do you keep this from hurting the user experience with system delays or false authentication failures?
Starting December 31, 2024, betting operators are responsible for preventing certain people from registering for or using their betting systems, to ensure the integrity and security of the activity.
The groups barred from participating include, of course, anyone under 18, who cannot register for or use betting systems. Owners, administrators, directors, people with significant influence, managers or employees of the betting operator are also barred.
Public officials whose duties are directly related to regulating, controlling and overseeing betting activities within the jurisdiction where they work are likewise prohibited. Similarly, people with access to the computer systems of fixed-odds betting lotteries cannot take part.
Individuals who could exert any influence on the outcome of the sporting events being bet on are also excluded, including sports executives, coaches, trainers, referees, assistant referees, sports agents, agents or representatives of athletes and coaches, members of the management or oversight bodies of entities that organize sports competitions, and athletes taking part in competitions organized by Brazil’s National Sports System.
People diagnosed with gambling disorder (gambling addiction) by a licensed mental health professional are prohibited from betting. Finally, anyone barred from betting by a specific administrative or court decision, once formally notified, must also be excluded from betting systems.
These measures aim to ensure a safe and fair environment for all participants and to preserve the integrity of betting activities.
