## FAQ

### What is Trio and how does it work?
Trio is a corporate account for businesses. We are a Payment Institution regulated by the Central Bank of Brazil (IP 619) specialized in high volume. With our own infrastructure and a direct connection to the Central Bank, you manage Pix, Pix Boleto, recurring charges and batch payments with no intermediary between your operation and the financial system.

### Is Trio a bank?
No. Trio is a Payment Institution authorized by the Central Bank of Brazil (IP 619; CNPJ 49.931.906/0001-19; ISPB 49931906), with settlement infrastructure of its own and a direct connection to the Central Bank. In practice, your company runs its account, 24/7 Pix, boletos, TED wire transfers, billing and cards with no intermediary between your operation and the financial system, on a platform designed for your finance team to run and your product team to integrate.

### How does Trio protect my company’s data and transactions?
Trio follows an information-security policy under Resolução BCB nº 85/2021, the Central Bank’s cybersecurity rule: encryption at rest and in transit, least-privilege access, secure development, intrusion detection, incident management, business continuity and audit logs. Personal data is handled under Brazil’s LGPD, with a data protection officer (DPO). For integrations, webhooks are signed with HMAC-SHA-256, sandbox and production credentials are separate, and each credential can have its own IP allowlist. See the details on Security.

### Can I control who approves each payment?
Yes. You set approval rules by amount and by CNPJ, manage users and permissions and create approval rules for boletos. Each payment is released only after the required approvals, which can be given in the app, and is recorded in the approval history.

### Does Trio serve groups with several companies?
Yes. Multiple CNPJs (company tax IDs) sit in one login, with cost centers, virtual accounts, management dashboards and approval rules by CNPJ. For high-volume operations, see Trio for Enterprise.

### Can I test the API before signing a contract?
Yes. Create a free sandbox account, a full environment that mirrors production, and read the API docs. When the integration goes to production, a dedicated Integration Analyst works alongside your team.

### Can I take payments inside my product?
Yes. Trio Checkout brings Pix to your website, or to your app through a WebView, with the session created on your backend and callbacks at every step. For recurring charges, use Pix Automático; for one-off charges, the payment link. See Accounts Receivable and the SDK docs.

### How long does integration take?
Standard operations via the API are ready in days. Custom integrations follow a Design → Setup → Build → Test → Go Live track, with a dedicated Integration Analyst at every phase and a full sandbox that mirrors production. Total time depends on how complex your operation’s flow is.

### How does support work?
You get a dedicated relationship manager and human support 24/7 for incidents, transaction checks and reconciliation. During integration, a dedicated Integration Analyst works alongside your team, with no setup fee.

### Can AI agents make payments through Trio?
No. Trio MCP is read-only: agents read entities, balances, statements, outgoing and incoming payments, transfers, cards and invoices, and export invoices as CSV. Every call uses your organization’s credentials and sees only its data. Payments still go through the account’s approval rules: agents read, analyze and explain; people approve.

### How much does Trio cost for high-volume operations?
On the Enterprise plan, pricing is negotiable: exclusive commercial terms for high-volume operations. See the plans on Pricing or talk to Trio.
